An engineer’s rigor, applied to people.

I trained as a civil engineer, earned my MBA in HR at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, and have spent nearly ten years helping leaders at BlackRock, Enphase Energy and Wipro build organizations that hold up under pressure.

75+employee exits led through org design and restructuring, handled with discretion
1,500+employees in my largest client group
100%on-time completion of an 800-person performance cycle
36→44%women’s representation in BlackRock’s Mumbai office
The journey

From load paths to leadership

Engineering taught me to look at any structure and ask where the weight goes, where it could fail, and how much margin it needs. I have been asking the same questions about organizations ever since.

  1. 2009–2013

    Bachelor of Engineering, Civil

    Government Engineering College, India

Learned to read a structure: how loads travel, where stress builds, and why good design always leaves a margin for the unexpected.

  2. 2013–2015

    MBA, Human Resources

    Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee

Moved from buildings to people. Topped the HR class in the final semester (9.6/10) and was one of two students recognized as the program’s All-Rounder.

  3. 2015–2019

Senior Executive → Assistant Manager, HR

    Wipro · promoted in 2017

Partnered with leaders of Wipro’s banking accounts, including Credit Suisse and Citi. Learned employee relations where it matters most: 68 formal cases, from investigation to resolution. Helped develop 28 next-generation leaders and ran listening sessions that reached about 1,500 employees.

  4. 2019–2022

    Associate, HR Business Partner

    BlackRock

Partnered with U.S.-based senior leaders whose India teams totaled about 450 people, and served as HR Location Lead for the roughly 750-person Mumbai office. Ran compensation, succession and performance cycles end to end, lifted engagement scores by 8 points, and helped raise women’s representation from 36% to 44%.

  5. 2022–2024

    Associate Manager, HR Business Partner

    Enphase Energy

Advised 8 U.S.-based leaders across 3 functions and 800 employees. Led org design and restructuring, including more than 75 exits. Built a job-skill matrix to target training and succession, revamped onboarding for 600+ new hires, supported the Workday rollout, and delivered the performance cycle 100% on time.

Span and layer review across three departments

The problem

Leaders needed a clear, current picture of how three of my client groups were built, and whether any of their managers were stretched too thin.

What I did

I rebuilt the org charts for IT, PMO and Manufacturing Test, measured every manager’s span of control and the number of layers, and flagged teams that were out of range. Then I met each flagged manager to test the numbers against how the work really ran.

The result

PMO was well balanced. IT and Manufacturing Test got specific restructuring recommendations, with each decision and next step documented for the HR director. Where contractors worked to fixed service levels, we left the structure alone, because a ratio on its own is not a decision.

From eNPS scores to actions with owners

The problem

Each year the eNPS survey produced pages of ratings and comments. Leaders across my client groups needed to know what to fix first.

What I did

I put every response on a five-point scale and compared promoters, passives and detractors, managers and individual contributors, and India against global results. I coded the written comments into 18 themes and narrowed them to five focus areas.

The result

In HR Connect listening sessions, each team turned those focus areas into a short action plan with an owner and a timeline for every item. Because engagement was a key driver, I also proposed Viva Engage, a company-wide social network already included in Microsoft 365.

A career path, a skills matrix and a video to explain them

The problem

Engineers in Manufacturing Test couldn’t see how to grow, and managers had no shared language for development conversations.

What I did

I partnered with the team’s leaders on a career path with two tracks, technical and managerial, four proficiency levels, clear competencies and a development plan template. Then I built an automated skills matrix that turns any career path into a team dashboard.

The result

Managers can see their team’s strengths and gaps at a glance and turn them into individual development plans, and the tool works for any function with a career path. I also wrote scenes for a video series that shows managers and employees how to use career paths in one-on-ones.

9 VENDORS · 37 CRITERIA

Choosing a talent management system

The problem

Skills, performance, succession and learning data lived in separate places. Succession planning was reactive and managers had little visibility into development.

What I did

I wrote the business case and compared 9 vendors against 37 criteria, from skills matrices and succession planning to Workday integration, data security, and cost and return on investment. I sat through the product demos and gathered client case studies.

The result

Leadership got a side-by-side comparison and a five-phase rollout plan: select, configure, train and manage the change, go live, then keep improving.

Defining what a great HR business partner does

The problem

Our HRBP team had no shared standard for what good looks like at each stage of the role.

What I did

I studied how Amazon, Bosch, Flipkart, Schneider Electric and Honeywell define their HRBP roles and compared them side by side.

The result

I proposed an HRBP competency model of seven clusters, from culture and employee relations to compensation, analytics and governance. Each one is defined at four levels, from Basic to Expert.

Smaller builds

Offer letters, automated

Recruiters enter 11 fields and the full offer annexure fills itself in. Confidential pay tables stay in hidden sheets.

Onboarding for 600+ hires

A hybrid new-hire orientation covering culture, policies, benefits, Workday setup and where to get HR help.

Employee assistance program

Evaluated 24/7 counselling support for employees in India and worldwide, with costs and next steps for leadership.

How I work

Three habits from engineering

Design load

Build for what the business must carry

Structures are sized for real demand. I size org design, hiring plans and team structures to the business’s actual needs, and redesign them when those needs change.

Site survey

Measure before you build

Engineers survey the ground first. I start with the data, from attrition and engagement to headcount trends, so leaders make people decisions on evidence.

Factor of safety

Leave margin for people

Good structures fail gracefully. In restructuring and employee relations, that means a clear process, full compliance, and dignity for every person involved.

Beyond the office

Seven years of Bharatanatyam

Alongside engineering, I completed seven years of formal training and a bachelor’s degree in Bharatanatyam, the Indian classical dance form.

It taught me discipline, presence, and how to tell a story without words. I use all three in every leadership conversation.
